Use the Adopt-A-Spot Online Mapping Tool to adopt a site and do your part to keep litter out of our waterways. Your volunteer effort to remove litter, aquatic trash and debris are critical to our communities. When we connect people to places, we help them take ownership of their communities. This reduces littering and illegal dumping, which results in cleaner lands and healthier aquatic ecosystems and lowers the burden on local governments.

ABOUT THE MAPPING TOOL PROJECT

The Adopt-A-Spot Online Mapping Tool project was created by a diverse group of stakeholders within the Trinity River Basin with the goal of fostering a litter-free environment in Texas watersheds by enabling community leaders to promote and track trash removal activities in their region.

Partners supporting litter control efforts in Texas have developed a web-based GIS tool for watersheds in Texas. Our website provides easy access to adopt places in our communities; however, additional resources are needed to support the project.
